New York is filled with choices, and when it comes to what New Yorkers eat and drink,
the possibilities are endless.

Always overwhelmed? Never know where the perfect place to take your date and keep it
wallet-friendly AND keep it in Midtown? How about where you should go for that huge group
dinner you were tasked to plan? If this is you on a weekly basis, you've come to the right
place. Enter, stage right: EATERY EXPERT.

How did EE begin? Well, the co-founders, native New Yorkers Evan Machowsky and Lauren Saiger, were visiting New Orleans and were at a loss on where to eat and drink that wasn't in every tourist guide or a dated recommendation from a hand-me-down copy of Lonely Planet. They wanted to know where the locals went for the best gumbo and po' boy sandwiches, but they were at a loss. "Wouldn't it be great if there was a service where you could just write in and ask a local where they go out to eat in The Big Easy?", they asked themselves.
Then they realized, if we are having this much trouble finding options in New Orleans,
we wonder what people do in New York? And with that, Eatery Expert was born, free of charge, for your dining and drinking pleasure.

Eatery Expert has been in operation since November 2009, fielding thousands of requests from New Yorkers and tourists from all around the world. No matter how daunting you think your request might be, the Experts are here to help you. Looking for the best Japanese restaurants in the East Village with a great sake selection & the freshest sushi-we know
and we'll tell you. How about the best venue to host an amazing bachelorette party
downtown? We know – and we'll let you in on the secret.

Along with fielding your requests, we will continue to post interviews with some of our favorite chefs (Chef Profile Series), awesome lists of our favorite eats in town (The Top 10) and
we'll also let you in on how the best mixologists and bartenders are shakin' it around The
Big Appletini (The Daily Drink).

As always, Eatery Expert is here for YOU. One bite at a time.

EXECUTIVE EATERS
----------------------------------

EVAN MACHOWSKY
Co-Founder & Chief Eating Officer

The consummate "man's man," Evan loves cooking, going on long walks, and
Gossip Girl. Actually, only cooking. Ever since his first time walking through Union
Square Greenmarket, Evan has been addicted to food, especially the diverse
and ever-changing NYC restaurant scene. Evan's other passions are the New York
Rangers, Rex Ryan (due to their shared passion for snacks), and taking his puppy
Stanley to Washington Square Park Dog Park.

LAUREN SAIGER

Co-Founder & Director of Social Media Consumption

Originally from Bedford, New York, Lauren has spent the last six years living life along Fourteenth Street. Her first apartment at the corner of 14th Street and 2nd Avenue
placed her right in the middle of her two favorite NYC neighborhoods; the East Village
and Gramercy Park. This quickly created the backbone of her food & restaurant-exploring obsession. From there, she moved to the West Village with her boyfriend and EE co-founder, Evan. When she isn't mixing up her special Caesar salad dressing or cooking up some
turkey meatballs, you can find Lauren at Equinox, Barry's Bootcamp, or Washington
Square Park Dog Park where puppy Stanley loves to play.

JOLEEN ZANUZOSKI
Partner & Director of Communications…and Cocktails

When Joleen isn't writing, she is eating, and when she isn't eating, she is probably talking about something related to eating. She is a firm believer that the Upper West Side is not a culinary wasteland and she is known for discovering delicious uptown hidden gems. Joleen
is originally from the Seattle-Tacoma area, but she now calls New York her home. Besides overseeing the editorial content for Eatery Expert, she enjoys documenting her Gael Greene sightings on Twitter, accessories shopping for the biggest bangles in town, strolling around Central Park and satiating her unhealthy obsession with recycling everything she possibly
can.

SARAH MINTZ
Contributing Writer and Analyst of Anything Edible

As the newest addition to the EE team, Sarah shares a passion for both food and shoes.
But alas, she can really only afford food. She's traveled across Europe and Southeast Asia
indulging in every exotic culinary treat she could find and will soon embark on a search in
South America. In the meantime, Sarah's goal is to uncover the perfect dining experience in
New York City for every palate (and you!). If you can't find her wandering through Chelsea
Market, head to Bloomingdales, the West Side Highway running path, or Professor Thom's
where she will be cheering equally for Michigan and the pizza-tray sized tower of nachos.

Stanley Saiger-Machowsky
Managing Barker
Stanley knew from an early age (one year ago) that he loved to eat. His idol is Andrew
Zimmern of Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. Following in Andrew's footsteps, you can find Stanley eating a variety of squirrels, cats, and garden snakes. His favorite drink is luke warm water, and his guilty pleasure is tearing through a leftover T-Bone from Peter Lugars. Woof!

EE is sponsored and fueled by the love of food, drink and New York City.
