As I sit down, just in from the frigid winds of the night, I yearn for warmth. The kind of body relief one can only get from a delicious bowl of soup. Ah yes, I’m in luck. Leftover lentil soup from the one and only B & H – 127 2nd Ave. This restaurant’s a hole in the wall with a place in my heart. If you haven’t been, make sure to check them out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – and let us know how you like it!

For as close a friend as Jack Daniels can be on a Friday night, he quickly becomes my worst enemy when I open my eyes Saturday morning. Thankfully, I’ve found the perfect cure for this Whiskey-driven hangover: Paprika – 110 St. Marks Pl. Neither advil, tylenol, nor any other medicine can replicate the regenerative properties of Green eggs (scrambled eggs with pesto) served over Polenta with a Mimosa. So if you wake up at home (or someone else’s home) tomorrow morning with that headache you just can’t shake, check out Paprika and let us know how you like it.

As I sit here on this dark and cold Wednesday afternoon I find myself void of productivity. Why? I’m not sure. I’m never really sure why I fall into these spells. What I do know is that I close my eyes and all I see is Pig in all it’s glory. Images of confit pig belly, suckling pig, braised pork shoulder, pork chops, and more dance around in my mind as if they’re trying to send me a message. I’ve recently been to the new Danny Meyer restaurant Maialino – 6 Lexington Ave. and dined on one of the juciest suckling pigs I’ve ever had. It was a taste I won’t soon forget and one I’d like to replicate ASAP. Or mabye it’s the pork buns I grabbed a few nights ago at Momofuku Milk Bar 207 2nd Ave. Each bite is little taste of heaven. Or maybe I’ve just gone crazy. Either way…on this day, I’m dreaming of pig.
